This is my new craving :
I don't know the name of it since we call it by the name of number 36. I think it was bun or ban with grilled pork and pork spring roll. I tried it for the very first time the day before yesterday at our favorite pho place. We've been going to this Vietnamese restaurant for quite a while, ordering the same pho every time. It was time for change and I finally ordered something different - and it tasted DELICIOUS (It actually tastes like Korean BBQ but this one is pork)! At first I didn't know how to eat it so I had a bite of everything, but the noodles tasted too plain. So I asked our waitress and she poured this fish sauce (that I thought was a dip for the spring rolls) over the noodles and I felt very....stupid. It's like eating meatballs and spaghetti noodles seperately!
So delicious I had it again last night. But this time we ordered take-out since we thought it would be too embarassing to go back for the second night in a row! I had my hat and hoodie on to pick up the order and ran back to the car in a split second. I think I want to go back again tonight : )
Mmmm, I love Vietnamese. These look delicious. I have a fav restaurant and it is Vietnamese. We only go a few times a year to keep it special. Does your have steamed banana cake? If so, do try it. Meantime, enjoy these fabulous meals. Yum!!

Bun Thit Nuong with Cha Goi (but it should have funny accents over it).
ReplyDeleteBun Thit Nuong is hubbs fave (that's just the grilled pork noodles, without spring rolls).
Yup, sauce is for lubricating noodles, sweet, sour and chilli all in one hit! Sluuuuuuuurp!
