Nordstrom Cafe

Did anyone know that Nordstrom had a dining cafe? I think I fell in love with it last night!

It's a self-serve, order and bring to table style of cafe, but there are people who bring your bread and refill your water. 

I ordered the shrimp and asparagus risotto- it was delicious! But the portion was so small (in my opinion), I could have had 2 plates...

And then I went for the creme brulee.

Do you see the vanilla bean specks? I think I would have been freaking out if I didn't know what vanilla bean was. I only found out about it 9 years ago :P

Affogato

 Starbucks is having frappucino happy hour from 3-5 - of course I couldn't pass! I tried the vanilla bean frap since I've been enjoying the flavor very much because of this:

Remember my blueberry crumble post? Move over blueberry crumble! My our new favorite flavor is vanilla bean espresso. It's a mix of vanilla ice cream with an espresso swirl tasting like affogato. so so so good!

For those who are wondering, Mr. P was missing so his good friend Mr. Tomato filled in for him :)

Blueberry Crumble- BEST flavor ever!

Last weekend, we found a new flavor that we now call "flavor of the millenium".... While I was shopping at the supermarket, I see a lady with 10+ pints of this new haagen dazs ice cream and think to myself why on earth would anyone buy more than 3 of the same flavor. Don't you get sick of it? So I tell the hubs about this "crazy" lady with a cart full of same ice cream and now the hubs wants to try it himself. So I walk back to the ice cream aisle, and of course there is no more blueberry crumble (which I really didn't mind since I didn't know how it would taste). So he tells me to go find the lady and steal one from her cart....which of course I did not do. So the next time I was at the supermarket, I was determined to try this new flavor and bought one (I should have bought ten...). Came home and had a bite.....

Oh haagen-dazs! You did an amazing job!! So SO Soooooo good! Blueberry ice cream mixed with buttery crunchy crumbles T.T I die... I wish all the ice cream flavors had crumble pieces inside- vanilla crumble, coffee crumble, strawberry crumble (I should write an email to haagen dazs).

So we got some more and ate some more and now we only have 3 left....T.T  So the next time you go to the market, don't forget to check if they have blueberry crumble-it's a limited edition so you better hurry! Ok off I go to the fridge....

Georgetown Cupcake

Finally we got to taste some georgetown cupcakes!

I wish they were so much bigger. 1 doesn't do it for me...and 2 gives me guilt.

The frosting was amazing! and the cake was moist~

Thank god I didn't have to stand in this line! I can see what the wait is all about-love this place!

p.s. I watched extreme couponing on TLC....and WOW! I read about it on a fellow blogger's blog, but it really is amazing how these couponers dedicate the time and effort!

Apple Crisp Pie

Don't judge by the looks...this pie was amazing. This was one of the first pies I made, and I thought I wasn't a crust person (that's why I only pinched a little), but boy was it buttery and delicious! Next pie, you know how big my crust will be ; )

Making Pumpkin Pie

I made pumpkin pie for the very first time!

I never really liked baking because I don't want to know how much butter, sugar, shortening goes into the stuff I eat...that would just be too cruel! Let a (wo)man enjoy his dessert!

I don't have a blender so I had to do it the classic way.

Dinner at La Madeleine

the rotisserie chicken...the rice was very very delicious! wish I could make it at home. What kind of rice do I have to use? I made spanish rice today with long grain rice, but it wasn't like the stuff I eat at Mexican restaurants....a little bummed out :(

french vanilla tart. VERY, VERY good. I had half last night and finished the rest for breakfast!

Blizzard

Last night we went to Dairy Queen to go get the "buy 1 blizzard, get 1 for 25 cents".

I got this....but I couldn't finish it last night (I have to admit that it didn't do somersaults in my mouth), so I'm eating it now. Love leftovers!
